Microfinance advice for rural Romania

A second EaSI TA thematic seminar was organised in Romania by fi-compass earlier this Autumn. The event’s main purpose was to highlight new product development opportunities for microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Romania, particularly in rural microfinance. It attracted 30 participants from about 15 different MFIs with rural interests.

EaSI TA Thematic Seminar on Mutual Learning 'Risk and Credit Management', 25 September 2017, Deva / Sarmizegetusa, Romania

An EaSI TA seminar was organised in Romania for microfinance stakeholders in September 2007 by fi-compass. The event was an initiative following up on an EaSI TA Survey conducted in March / April 2017, which identified that a number of credit unions (CARs) from Romania were interested in learning from peers about Risk & Credit Management policies and procedures.

A thematic seminar on mutual learning was organised by fi-compass EaSI TA in collaboration with the Romanian Region West Credit Unions Association (UTCAR RV) in Deva/ Sarmizegetusa on September 25, 2017. Particular interest was shown in solutions for reducing financial risk, as well as learning more about risk & credit management policies in different microfinance institutions from across the EU.

A second EaSI TA thematic seminar was organised in Romania by fi-compass on October 19th 2017. The event’s main purpose was to highlight new product development opportunities for microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Romania, particularly in rural microfinance. It attracted 30 participants from about 15 different MFIs with rural interests.

Three EaSI TA Workshops within the Ethical and Solidarity Finance Forum (FES III) on 24th - 26th November 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal

The first EaSI Technical Assistance (EaSI TA) workshops from fi-compass in Portugal are being organised to bring together social finance stakeholders such microfinance bodies, national authorities, financial organisations, academia, and non-governmental organisations. Lisbon will be the location for the workshops that are taking place from November 24-26 as part of the three day Ethical and Solidarity Finance Forum (FES III).

EaSI TA Thematic Seminar: 'Developing your business model and innovating in BDS', 16 November 2017 in Almelo, Netherlands

A seminar is being organised by fi-compass EaSI TA in the Netherlands on November 16. This will highlight good practice approaches to strategy and business models for microfinance institutions (MFIs) as well as explain innovative techniques for offering complementary business development services (BDS) alongside microcredit.
