Workshop on EU instruments for microfinance in Sofia, Bulgaria

The Bulgarian association of credit cooperatives and microfinance organisations (BACCOM) together with fi-compass is organising the first EaSI TA workshop on EU instruments for microfinance in Bulgaria on November 10th 2016 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The main focus of the event is on funding from private investors and workshop content will explain EU support for microfinance institutions (MFIs). This will provide an opportunity for the participating organisations, and those already accessing the funds provided by the European Investment Fund, to learn more about attracting investors in general and the instruments supporting microfinance.

The EaSI TA workshop will offer information about the new financial instruments for microfinance provided by the European Commission and the European Structural and Investment Funds in Bulgaria. It will also highlight capacity building opportunities offered by EaSI TA and the criteria for accreditation under the European Code of Good Conduct. Two of the current beneficiaries of EaSI TA are from Bulgaria and their representatives will be able to share knowledge and experience about accessing funding and technical assistance support.

The event is mainly targeted at the management representatives of Bulgarian MFIs and it is also open to a wider audience as well. Organisers expect around 30 to 40 participants to attend the workshop. For more detailed information about the event’s agenda and speakers please visit the organiser’s website.
