Since 2010, the Occitanie Region has been significantly mobilising its own financial resources alongside European funds under its responsibility (ERDF, EAFRD) to act in three areas of intervention: bank loan guarantees, innovation honour loans, and equity investment funds.
This intervention is implemented in close partnership with the European Investment Fund (EIF), which manages the scheme on behalf of the Region and operates the instruments through selected intermediaries such as banks and the innovation loan association.
All these financial instruments are brought together under the FOSTER Région Occitanie banner and effectively leverage private financing – 8 times the initial public contribution (Region + EU funds).
Results:
- 7412 SMEs financed between 2010 and 2023 for a total of €1202 million // 1033 farms and agri-businesses supported for a total of €145 million
- 1125 SMEs financed since 2024 (as of September 30, 2025) for a total of €258 million // 305 farms and agri-businesses supported for a total of €31 million
