Microsmart, Greece: demonstrating innovation

The TEPIX III Microcredit Fund is a financial tool of the Holding Fund under the name "Entrepreneurship III Fund", the funds of which are co-financed by the European Social Fund+ (ESF+) through the NSRF 2021-2027 "Competitiveness" Program. The Hellenic Development Bank - HDB has been appointed as the manager of the Holding Fund. The TEPIX III Microcredit Fund is a risk-sharing financial instrument for the provision of investment loans up to 40% of the total financing and special purpose loans, which is implemented under the "Entrepreneurship III Fund" Holding Fund. Its aim is to support very small entities and natural persons engaged in sole proprietorship, in accordance with the definition of art. 2 of Law 4308/2014 (A ́251), as amended by Law 5164/2024, with emphasis on female entrepreneurship, as well as other categories that may be defined in accordance with the provisions of article 15, par. 2 of Law 4701/2020 (Government Gazette A' 128/30.06.2020), who do not have access to traditional banking sources of financing. An important parameter of the Fund is the provision of business education consulting services (mentoring) to microfinance beneficiaries.

Microsmart acts as intermediary body to this fund and has developed the presented innovations for its clients – financial instrument beneficiaries.
